The family of a Rockford area man speaks out after they say he was shot by Mexican cartel in front of loved ones after failing to stop at a makeshift checkpoint.

The family said Mexican President Claudia Scheinbaum promised a security plan when she took office last year, but failed to protect Jesus Macias.
