China’s box office remained strong post-Lunar New Year, with 'Ne Zha 2' earning $275.3 million, bringing its total to $1.64 billion.

Since its release in the Chinese mainland during the Chinese New Year, "Ne Zha 2" has proved a smashing success at the box office, with total earnings worldwide, including pre-sales, surpassing 12.3 billion Chinese yuan ($1.72 billion) as of Tuesday evening.

Another animated sequel has come out of nowhere to replace Inside Out 2 as the all-time highest-grossing animated film at the global box office.
