Florida State has made another addition to its 2026 class in the form of a local rising star.

Florida State's 2026 recruiting class took a big hit on Sunday as four-star quarterback Brady Smigiel backed off his commitment to the program. Smigiel has been picking up a ton of interest as of late and the Seminoles' transitioning offense under head coach Mike Norvell and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn played a role in his decision.

And in 2026, they’re off to a fast start — even after four-star quarterback commit Brady Smigiel backed off his pledge on Sunday.

The Seminoles have offered a prospect who is committed to a program that just played for a National Championship.

The ACC opener comes after a four-game nonconference schedule that includes home games against Notre Dame (Aug. 31), Bethune-Cookman (Sept. 6), University of South Florida (Sept. 13) and Florida (Sept. 20). Miami will have a bye week between its games against UF and FSU.
