Phil Mickelson suffered a minor shoulder injury during a workout in the gym and will miss the LIV Golf season opener in Saudi Arabia this week. Mickelson, 54, made the announcement Monday on social media.

This adjustment in his plans brings Ollie Schniederjans in as his replacement. Schniederjans, who recently claimed victory on the Asian Tour—his first in nine years—has been selected to fill Mickelson's spot in the Saudi Arabia event.

Phil Mickelson was all set to start his season with LIV Golf Riyadh but withdrew from the event after sustaining a shoulder injury while working out.
