A Sikh gathering rejected the SGPC's appointment of new religious leaders and demanded reinstatement of previous ones. The ousted leaders include former Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh.

The Karnataka Cabinet also sanctioned financial aid worth Rs 96.77 crore to restore the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre, which suffered significant damage in a fire earlier this year.
