The Trump administration is "twisting itself in knots" in trying to limit birthright citizenship and focus on deportations, argues New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin.

“Protecting the Meaning and Value of American Citizenship”—better known as the birthright citizenship executive order —attempts to cancel the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. Getting rid of constitutional amendments via executive order is new, and, for me at least, “the worst.”

Legal experts warn that those whose parents are on work and student visas won’t be exempt from the implications of the new order.
