The Twins helped them off the mat in the top of the sixth. Reliever Jorge Alcala walked the first two hitters, Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson. An infield single by Colt Keith loaded the bases. Zach McKinstry, coming off an 8 for 13 homestand, lashed a two-run single to cut the deficit to a run.

Dingler scored all the way from first to tie the game in the fifth when Gleyber Torres singled to right and Matt Wallner’s throw to third ended up in the Twins dugout. Torres was back in the lineup and had two hits after being activated off the 10-day injured list.

The Detroit Tigers rallied from a three-run deficit to beat the Minnesota Twins, 7-6, in the series opener on Friday night at Target Field in Minneapolis. The Tigers (8-5) have won eight of ten, while the Twins (4-10) have lost five of six.
