MARSHFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) - Police say a Vermont teen has died of her injuries after a house fire in Marshfield. Crews were called to the fire on U.S. Route 2 on Friday at about 2:45 p.m. Vermont troopers say Adalyn Phoenix, 18, could not escape the home and was pulled out by firefighters. She later died at the hospital of her injuries.
A German national suspect on a legal visa allegedly killed a United States Border Agent during a traffic stop in Vermont near the Northern border on Monday.
Agent David “Chris” Maland died in a shooting following a traffic stop, the FBI said. A second person killed in the incident was a German national in the country on a current visa, authorities said.
The agent was identified as David “Chris” Maland, 44. Maland was a Blue Earth native and a graduate of Fairmont High School.
