A man who kidnapped his ex-girlfriend was taken into custody about 1:50 a.m., when state troopers found a stolen BMW with the victim, a 24-year-old woman, still inside, Illinois state police said.

State police said it started after they located a stolen vehicle wanted in connection with a kidnapping and gave chase around 2 a.m. The victim was inside the vehicle during the chase.
