Top seeds and Southeastern Conference rivals get together one more time in the 2025 NCAA Women’s Final Four, as the defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks battle the Texas Longhorns.
The Texas Longhorns are heading to the Final Four of the women’s NCAA basketball tournament for the fourth time in program history and first since 2003.
Teams seeded higher than their opponents have won a whopping 85 percent of their games (51-9) in this year's women's tournament.
South Carolina trailed UCLA as the No. 2 team in the ranking, with head coach Dawn Staley leading the defending champions. Joyce Edwards, MiLaysia Fulwiley and Chloe Kitts are the team's top three scorers, with guard Te-Hina Paopao a potential top pick in the upcoming WNBA draft, a key component.
The Women's Final Four field is set, with Paige Bueckers and the 2-seed UConn Huskies favored ahead of Texas, UCLA and reigning champs South Carolina.
Auburn knocked off Michigan State on Sunday evening to complete a Final Four of exclusively top seeds. Duke will meet Houston, while Florida will face Auburn in San Antonio.
