The first-ever College Basketball Crown continues on Thursday with the final two quarterfinal games. First up was an all-Big 12 matchup between UCF and Cincinnati. Next up on FS1 is another fun showdown.

Darius Johnson scored eight straight points in a pivotal 10-0 run to snap the Knights' five-game losing streak against Cincinnati.

College basketball programs that fell shy of the NCAA's March Madness tournament will now have the opportunity to compete in the postseason through the College Basketball Crown.

On Thursday, the AP announced that USC superstar JuJu Watkins is their College Basketball Player of the Year. Watkins averaged 23.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and a career-high 3.4 assists per game over 33 games for the Trojans this year. Her season was cut short mid-tournament by a serious knee injury.

Even so, Fox Sports executives looked at the schedule and thought there was a place for one more, working with AEG to put together the College Basketball Crown, a 16-team tournament in Las Vegas that concludes its inaugural edition Sunday.

Some states initially allowed bets for the 16-team tournament that began on Mar. 31, but bettors had their wagers voided and funds returned.
