Compared to my experience with Panny plasma and Samsung KS8000, there was a noticeable judder on 30fps games for me when I first started gaming on C8. Mostly when panning the camera. I don’t notice quite as much anymore. I enabled the black frame insertion and it helped a ton.

It seems to me that you are confused between the timebase of the sequence and the type of timecode that you should use with your choice. In you original post you should source files that were all shot at 29.97.

Dec 3, 2017 · I noticed the same thing as you when I upgraded from a 55" LCD to a 65" OLED, but then I compared the same content (30fps games and 24fps videos) on both TVs and found that most of the "choppiness" had to do with having a larger screen. When increasing viewing distance, motion became much smoother.

Aug 10, 2010 · If this is some requirement for a specific delivery system, then okay, but even then I would assume that just doubling frames looks better than interpolating them. Anyway, your issues are very likely due to not obeying pulldown cadences, which naturally occurs when going from 24fps to 30fps/60fps. Check your footage interpretation on that one.

Apr 17, 2009 · Quite evident at 30fps DVD when converted. 60p is much smoother all around. If you have an option to use it. Also with two unsynced 60p cams, you're at worst 1/4 of a frame off between the two cams converted to 30p in terms of perfect sync.
